Cornerstone Ranches Yakima Valley Apples


Cornerstone Ranches farm over 475 acres of several popular apple varieties like Braeburn, Fuji, Gala, Golden Delicious, Granny, Pink Lady, and Scarlett. Depending on the variety and growing conditions, picking begins in mid-August and continues until mid-November. Our apples go to fresh markets around the U.S. as well as  several other world wide markets.

*In 1889, the first commercial orchards were established in Eastern Washington.  Like the first established orchards, many apple-growing districts still exist today along major river banks.   

*More than 175,000 acres of apple orchards lie in Eastern Washington.

*The Yakima Valley is the largest apple producing region in Washington state.

*Although there are more than 7500 varieties of apples worldwide, Washington State is known for varieties such as Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Braeburn, Gala, Fuji, Honeycrisp, Cripps Pink, and Cameos.  Washington State's most famous apple, the Red Delicious, represents about 30% of the apples grown in the state, but accounts for 48% of apples exported to other countries.

*The average U.S. consumer eats about 19 pounds of apples each year.  56% of these consumers prefer Washington apples over other growing regions.
